Emerging technologies shape the way we travel. Through the rise of techs like artificial intelligence, blockchain and digital realities, we see a transformation in the industry. Awareness of the rapidly changing tech landscape will help provide new opportunities for those who choose to engage it. Discover the latest technology trends and learn about their use cases in travel in this exciting look at the future as forecasted by Sabre Labs’ Tim Haynes. 

Tim Haynes, Sabre Labs

Tim is a storyteller, translator and futurist. He has spent his career bringing people of widely varied backgrounds and expertise together to help them build shared stories, anchored in data. He specializes in translating technically complex work into narratives for new audiences.

Before coming to the travel industry, Tim spent over a decade working with children’s hospitals to help turn research and stories into successful public media and policy initiatives. He has also taught as a university professor at The University of Texas at Dallas and worked as a writer for the Boston Globe. He holds a Master of Science in Science Writing from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Technology continues to evolve at a rapid pace.  Its impact on travel continues to be felt.  In this keynote session, Tony D’Astolfo will explore which tech companies and trends are having the biggest impact on the industry, with a particular view into which trends are influencing travelers and having the greatest impact on how they plan, book and experience travel.

Tony D’Astolfo, SVP and Chief Commercial Officer, Deem

Tony rejoined Deem in July, 2016 as Chief Commercial Officer, and is responsible for developing and driving the commercial strategies for all sales, marketing and customer related activities.  He is also part of the executive team that will define the product strategy.  Most recently Tony was Managing Director at Phocuswright, the most credible and quoted source for data, information and analysis in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry.  A travel industry veteran, he is an accomplished executive with rich expertise in travel and technology and a passion for moving the industry forward.  Prior to Phocuswright, Tony held senior leadership positions with GroundLink, Sabre/GetThere, and United Airlines.  Tony is a former member of the Board of Directors of ACTE, is a long time member of GBTA, and a frequent speaker at travel industry conferences around the world.
