Welcome to the Ohio Valley Chapter of GBTA

About OVBTA:

The Ohio Valley Chapter of the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) is a leading travel industry organization comprised of members from corporations and leading travel industry suppliers in Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio.  Founded in 1969, the Ohio Valley Chapter provides an important forum for the exchange of information, education and ideas among its members.  Our emphasis is on professional development, education, and working together to better understand new and emerging travel management practices.

OVBTA Mission:

The OVBTA Board’s Mission for 2017 is Growth through Strong Educational Programs.  Our chapter is committed to enhancing the travel profession by sponsoring educational and informational programs for our members, and by providing top-rated speakers to address travel-related issues, concerns and current "hot topic" items.  Our events are an excellent venue for the sharing of travel-related information and professional expertise where we are focused on perfecting the science of business travel management.  We provide a great way to network and learn from each other.

OVBTA Meetings:

Pre-paid meeting package is back for 2017! The OVBTA Meeting Package is available for current OVBTA members now thru March 15th. OVBTA Programs:

Our Program Committee is well into planning for 2017.  We have exciting speakers and events lined up that you won't want to miss.   A full program schedule will be posted early January.  So plan to attend another exciting year with great educational topics and fun networking activities.

Special Thanks to Deb Villa, Program Committee Chair and all the Program Committee for the hard work and dedication to bringing our membership timely and important industry information.  In 2017 Matt Gerrish, Enterprise Car Rental, will be joining Deb as Co-Chair.  So make sure to say hi to Matt at our March meeting.

OVBTA Membership:

Growth in Membership is key to our organization continued success.  Bobbi Huber, Membership Chair, and her team have put many hours into welcoming new members and engaging past members.  If you have not attended her “New Members Orientation Meeting” plan to attend at one of the upcoming OVBTA Meetings.  It’s a great way to learn all about where you can get involved and take advantage of membership benefits.

OVBTA Scholarships:

Diane Kesic, Scholarship Chair, and her team did an outstanding job this year.  Those who applied for scholarships tripled in number. Scholarships were presented at the November meeting to allow members opportunities to enhance their careers in our industry.  Joann Bratka, Delta Airlines, had to step down as chair mid-year, so Diane graciously accepted the responsibility.

A big thanks to Joann for all she did as her time as Scholarship Chair to forge ahead with a new simplified scholarship application process. We want to say Congratulations to Joann in her new Global Sales role with Delta! We will all miss her at our meetings.

OVBTA Auction & Sponsorship:

Tracy Bonds, Auction Chair, and her committee managed to raise over $13,000 at the 2016 Auction in November.  The “Tailgate Theme” added that extra special touch and all had a great time wearing their favorite NFL and College football team attire.  Mark you calendar to attend the 2017 Auction in November. I am sure they will have many great items to pick up for your 2017 Holiday shopping.

Beth Kopycinski, Sponsorship Chair, set the bar for new Sponsors in 2016 and her team is actively looking for new Sponsorships in 2017.  “Do you want to see your company name in Lights?”  Then contact Beth and see how your company can benefit by becoming a Sponsor for OVBTA.

OVBTA Special Thanks:

A huge thanks to Ilene Onieal, Meeting Planning Chair.  The 2016 venues were wonderful.  Hosting the Joint Ed Day in Cleveland was a great success and a lot of planning behind the scenes to make the meeting one of the best of the year.  Ilene has been hard at work to finalize the 2017 meeting dates and locations.  Dates, locations and all details will be released in early January.  Thanks Ilene!
